According to Aviation Industry Corporation of China, the "Nine Heavens" unmanned aerial vehicle successfully completed its maiden flight mission in Pucheng, Shaanxi.
As a large-scale general unmanned aerial vehicle platform for independent innovation in China, this model adopts the design concept of "general platform+modular mission payload" and relies on independent integration technology innovation. It has core advantages such as large load capacity, high lift limit, wide speed range, and short takeoff and landing. The length is 16.35 meters, wingspan is 25 meters, maximum takeoff weight is 16 tons, payload capacity is 6000 kilograms, flight time is 12 hours, and transition range is 7000 kilometers. Its performance indicators rank among the top of similar products.
Through modular task payload replacement, the "Jiutian" drone can be widely adapted to diverse civilian scenarios: it can undertake heavy material transportation and precise logistics delivery in remote mountainous areas and islands, quickly restore communication and deliver disaster relief equipment in emergency rescue, and provide services such as geographic mapping, disaster assessment, and mineral survey.
The successful maiden flight marks a new breakthrough in China's large-scale unmanned aerial vehicle technology. The "Jiutian" unmanned aerial vehicle was commissioned by Shaanxi Unmanned Equipment Technology Co., Ltd. to be designed by the Aviation Industry First Aircraft Design and Research Institute.
