The Chinese sports delegation for the 25th Winter Olympic Games was officially established today, with a total of 126 athletes participating, including Xu Mengtao, Qi Guangpu, Gu Ailing, Su Yiming, Sui Wenjing, Han Cong and other Winter Olympic champions. The Games will be held in Milan-Cortina, Italy, from February 6 to 22, 2026, with a total of 16 disciplines and 116 events.
The Chinese delegation this year consists of 286 people, including 126 athletes (68 women and 58 men) and 160 staff members. They will participate in 91 events across 15 disciplines in 7 sports. This is the largest delegation of athletes and the most extensive participation in the Winter Olympics for China.
The average age of the participating athletes is approximately 25 years old, with the oldest being 41 years old (Xu Xiaoming in curling) and the youngest being 17 years old (Ren Zhongshuo in snowboard halfpipe). Among them, 16 ethnic minority athletes come from Manchu, Tibetan, Kazakh, Uyghur, Hui, Mongolian, and Korean ethnic groups. 59 athletes have participated in the Winter Olympics, and 9 have won gold medals at the Beijing Winter Olympics. 67 athletes are participating in the Winter Olympics for the first time.
The team consists of 128 staff members, including 23 team leaders and deputy team leaders, 58 coaches, 11 administrative and translation staff, and 36 auxiliary staff members responsible for medical rehabilitation, equipment support, scientific research, etc. Among them, there are 32 foreign staff members from 21 countries including the United States, Finland, the Netherlands, and Canada.
